Be the Best Hospice Physician You Can Be

If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you:

  • Licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) authorized to practice medicine in the state(s) of service
  • Experience or training in caring for chronically and terminally ill patients, with Georgia requiring at least one year of hospice or end-of-life care experience
  • Board Certification or willingness to pursue Board Certification in Hospice & Palliative Care
  • Admitting privileges at a hospital commonly serving hospice patients (required in Florida and Georgia)
  • Strong administrative, leadership, and communication skills to support interdisciplinary coordination
  • Genuine alignment with the hospice philosophy of care, including a demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission, values, and culture
Responsibilities
  • Provide overall medical direction for hospice patient and family services, working closely with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Operations, and Team Directors to plan, evaluate, and enhance clinical care
  • Ensure the highest quality of compassionate medical care for patients by maintaining availability for urgent needs, admissions, certifications, and ongoing symptom management
  • Collaborate with and mentor attending and community physicians, offering clinical consultation and education while cultivating a strong provider network to support patient needs
  • Serve as an engaged member of the Executive Team, provide leadership on the Ethics Committee, and contribute to strategic initiatives through QAPI and quality assurance processes
  • Support Provider Relations efforts by participating in outreach and educational activities that promote hospice awareness among physicians, hospitals, and healthcare partners
  • Lead and contribute to ongoing education for both internal clinical teams and community providers, ensuring continued excellence and best practices in hospice and palliative care
  • Participate in in-person visits and virtual visits when appropriate. Documentation of visits is required to ensure that all patients have access to their benefits.
  • Partner with the interdisciplinary care team and be a strong leader in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings to ensure that a care plan is in place, that a patient's needs are well anticipated, and that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Participate in a Call Coverage Rotation to ensure any needs that have not been anticipated during IDG are met and to serve those newly admitted.
