• Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching‑related activities.
• Manage the classroom/laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
• Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
• Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
• Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area. Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
• Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop relationships with business and industry.
• Complete program evaluationندی and follow‑up.
• Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field. Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational requirements

Associate degree or higher in any field or educational equivalency*.

* Educational Equivalency:
Occupational experience combined with education and training totaling seven years or 14,000 hours.

Occupational experience

Must have a minimum of 5 years of full‑time or equivalent (10,000 hours) experience as a licensed nail technician (manicurist) or manicurist instructor.

In addition, one of the following must be met:

• At least 3 years of related work experience in the last 5 years, or
• annter late years of teaching nail technician coursework at the post‑secondary level within the last Birth 5 years at an accredited school of Cosmetology or Nail Technology

License & certification

• State of Wisconsin Manicuring Instructor Certificate or State of Wisconsin Cosmetology Instructor Certificate.
• Must have a valid State of Wisconsin Cosmetologist or Manicurist license.

Experience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies:

• Online Information Management Systems – Experience with INFOnline or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters
• Blackboard – Experience with Blackboard or other web‑based course‑management systems
• Technology‑based Instruction – Experience with technology‑based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch‑screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
• Emerging Technologies – Experience with emerging technologies (e.g., social networking applications)

Hours

This position is a .5 FTE; the number of hours worked per week will vary based on course load. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours.
