Salary: Up to $130,000 depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead and oversee all payroll operations at our West Allis, WI location. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while managing and developing a payroll team. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep payroll expertise, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple pay groups
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including Wisconsin requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop payroll staff; provide performance feedback and training
- Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, garnishments, benefits deductions, and year-end processes (W-2s, audits)
- Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll-related issues
- Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and reporting
- Handle complex payroll inquiries and escalations with professionalism and confidentiality
- 5+ years of payroll experience
, including full-cycle payroll processing - Proven management or supervisory experience in a payroll or related function
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll
- Leadership and team development
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
