Job DescriptionSalary Range: $38 - $43/ Hour
What You’ll DoAs a home care registered nurse (RN), you will ensure hospice patients are comfortable and forge compassionate, meaningful connections with the people in their lives. This is important work that comes with responsibility. Patients and families trust VITAS nurses to guide them through the end-of-life journey, and maintaining that trust is our highest priority.
You will be a respected member of our team, both as a caregiver and as a hospice educator. You will make care decisions at the bedside, ensuring comfort for your patients. You will help patients and their loved ones understand the palliative nature of hospice and the benefits of comfort-focused end-of-life care.
WHERE YOU’LL WORKYou will spend most of your time caring for hospice patients in their homes, whether in private residences or assisted living/skilled nursing facilities. Most nurses make 4-6 visits daily. Once a week, you’ll visit the local program office to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses.
What’s Expected From YouYou need an RN license, at least two years of nursing experience, and reliable transportation. Traits like Commitment, Compassion, and a Can-do Attitude are essential. Your focus will be on patient welfare, extending comfort and dignity at the end of life.
