RN First Assist We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to assist surgeons during operative procedures and provide safe, effective perioperative care to surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing direct operative support.
- Prepare patients, surgical instruments, and equipment for procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical safety and infection prevention standards.
- Assist with wound closure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and other surgical tasks within scope.
- Monitor patient condition and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams.
- Complete accurate documentation and support safe patient care throughout the perioperative process.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in the applicable state.
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant (RNFA) program preferred/required.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
- Previous perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred.
