ABOUT THE WISCONSIN STATE GOLF ASSOCIATIONThe WSGA is a nonprofit organization that serves as the state’s governing body for amateur golf. Founded in 1901, the WSGA is dedicated to promoting and conserving the game throughout the state of Wisconsin, and serving its membership of over 350 clubs and approximately 60,000 individual golfers. The WSGA administers over 100 tournaments each year, including men’s and women’s tournaments and championships, junior championships, as well as WSGA and USGA qualifying events.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Tournament and Volunteer Coordinator plays an important role in managing the WSGA volunteer program, assisting the tournament department in executing the WSGA tournament schedule consisting of over 100 events and handling customer service requests via phone and email. The position is full time with room to grow into a larger role.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
- Recruit, train, schedule and manage volunteers for all WSGA events. This will include working closely with the tournament department to determine volunteer needs, communication with volunteers before, during and after events and on-site staff and volunteer support at events.
- Assist WSGA staff with conducting tournaments. This will include office administration, processing tournament entries, membership renewals, and answering general tournament inquiries.
- Duties will also include on-site time at events throughout the season assisting with setup, registration, ball spotting, Rules of Golf support, scoring and loading equipment.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the tournament staff and Executive Director.
- Bachelor’s degree and experience working in golf or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of golf (playing experience and Rules of Golf knowledge preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a calm, but confident presence.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with the ability to travel throughout the state.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented structure with emphasis on customer service.
- Strong work ethic, enthusiasm for the game of golf and self-motivated personality.
- Must be available to work weekends, early mornings and long days as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Expected pay range of $40,000 - $50,000.
