Diesel Mechanic – Night Shift, 9pm–5:30am

• Starting salary of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Boot allowance of $200 per year
• Stable, predictable shift hours for financial and work‑life balance

• Monday – Friday, every week
• Shift: 9:00 pm to 5:30 am
• No weekend work
• Work site: WM’s repair/maintenance shop in West Babylon, NY hauling location

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles, ensuring compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
• Assist senior mechanics with project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.
