The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. The Stylist delivers professional services emphasizing the guest’s total look and supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process focus.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $800 and productivity goals for hair services while contributing to store retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑in guests, efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store, well‑rounded guest experience.
• Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaborative guest service delivery.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems to schedule guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to maintain guest readiness.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any assigned area.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices while providing guest service.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, color, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services (where applicable).
• Proficiency with use of equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and client base.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects.
