Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role requires competency in delivering care primarily to an adult population and incorporates essential functions derived from the ANA Nursing:
Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the employment area.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse. A BSN is preferred. Non‑BSN nurses with less than one year of licensed experience must enroll in a BSN program within 15 months of hire and complete the program within five years (six years if pursuing an MSN, DNP, or PhD).
Licensure& Certifications
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or multi‑state nursing license (NLC).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nurse Course Certification (TNCC) required within one year of hire.
