Job Summary
STAFF RN, Outpatient Care Center – The outpatient care center combines general infusion, bladder instillations, and wound care services. A minimum of two years’ experience in IP and/or hospital outpatient infusion is preferred. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services collaborates as an active interprofessional team member to deliver therapeutic, patient- and family-centered care. The RN systematically collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute, and evaluate care plans, uses evidence to drive clinical decisions, coordinates care across settings, considers safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability, delegates and supervises care in accordance with WI Nurse Practice, and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
ShiftDetails & Location
Shift: Shift 1 – Monday–Friday 08:00–16:30, with rotation to 09:00–17:30. Holidays and weekends rotate per staff. Weekend schedule:
Saturday and Sunday 08:00–12:00, every 7th–8th weekend (scheduled weekend).
Location:
West Bend Hospital, Froedtert, West Bend, Wisconsin.
- Perform/direct ACLS
- Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
- Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
- Independent, templated (RN‑only) visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards using clinical judgement to determine intervention timing/specifics
- Specialty patient education (certification/additional certificate required):
Sedation, Telemetry monitoring & interpretation/management of rhythm changes - Assisting with complex procedures – RN doing care/work on patient, or RN has role in treatment/procedure
- Advanced wound therapy (VACs, debridement, etc.):
Central line management (TPA administration) and maintenance (dressing/cap changes, access/flushing) - Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action – complex infusions (concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products, etc.)
- Work may also include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures. May float to other areas as needed for operations.
Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least one year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
EducationNursing licensure is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
LicensureRequires current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi‑state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
