Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with at least 2 years of fluoroscopy, outpatient, and ER experience for a 13-week hospital assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital setting with responsibilities in both fixed and mobile radiology units
- Covers inpatient, operating room, and emergency department cases
- Handles fluoroscopy, gastrointestinal studies, outpatient, and emergency radiographic exams
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Shifts are 7:30am-3:30pm with every third weekend 2:00pm-10:30pm, moving to 1:00pm-9:30pm for all shifts after May 18th
- Must work at least one holiday shift during the assignment
- Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital as needed
- Perform radiologic procedures per physician orders using independent judgment to determine appropriate techniques and safety practices
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for imaging exams
- Select and administer IV contrast as needed and monitor for reactions
- Maintain and stock procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Follow infection control practices and radiation protection protocols
- Resolve image and documentation issues in PACS and complete study indexing in RIS
- Expected to participate in patient care functions according to department standards
- May provide instruction to new staff and students as needed
- Professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to customer service values are expected
- Active MI Radiologic Technologist license required if applicable
- Current ARRT-R and AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in radiologic technology, including fluoro, GI, outpatient, and ER exams
- High school diploma or GED required
- Physical ability to occasionally lift or move patients or equipment exceeding 10 lbs
- Must complete online modules prior to start date and achieve a passing score
- COVID vaccination is required to work at this facility
