** Position Summary
** This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for experienced Independent Freight Agents operating under Ascent’s brokerage authority.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Build customer relationships and secure freight opportunities
* Source and qualify carriers using Ascent’s systems and tools
* Negotiate rates and handle required shipment documentation
* Manage shipments through the full lifecycle from booking to delivery
* Resolve service issues through proactive communication
* Maintain accurate system records and follow company compliance standards
** What You’ll Bring
*** Active, transferable book of business required
* ** Must reside and operate in the United States
*** Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation
* Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
