Management Accountant Wednesbury, West Midlands Salary: 40,000 – 48,000 The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well–established manufacturing business operating within a multi–entity group environment. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you'll take ownership of a standalone manufacturing subsidiary whilst supporting the wider finance function with accurate reporting, strong financial controls and continuous process improvement.

This is a varied, hands–on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and working closely with operational teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

• Produce monthly management accounts for a standalone manufacturing business.
• Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day finance operations, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and payroll oversight.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Monitor daily cash flow, bank reconciliations and multi‑currency bank accounts.
• Support treasury activities and manage invoice discounting reconciliations.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules for month‑end reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support the Group Finance Director with the preparation of consolidated group accounts.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Work closely with colleagues across operations, sales and procurement to improve financial processes and drive efficiencies.
• Support business improvement initiatives, including finance systems developments and ERP projects.
• Assist with year‑end audit requirements and statutory reporting.

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage their own workload whilst building strong relationships across the business.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience producing management accounts within a manufacturing or product‑based business.
• Previous experience working within a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience managing cash flow and bank reconciliations, ideally including multi‑currency transactions.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems/ERP software.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• AAT qualified, part‑qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.

• Manufacturing costing or stock accounting experience.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or finance process improvements.
• Exposure to invoice discounting or treasury management.
• Experience working within a growing SME or group structure.
