At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The UHNM - NMBC Procurement Group is responsible for the management and control of expenditure in excess of £840 million across the Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent, and Black Country health economies, providing strategic and operational procurement for multiple NHS organisations.
Main duties of the jobThe candidate will develop skills within the NHS and will gain experience of basic administration duties using a variety of systems, supporting the department and engaging with members of the public. The role requires excellent typing and interpersonal skills to deliver an efficient clerical support service.
Key responsibilities include:
- General office and administrative duties
- Handling correspondence and records
- Supporting procurement processes and data entry
- Assisting the team as required
- GCSE Maths and English
- Strong verbal and written communication in English
- A minimum of EDCL/computer technology or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of customer base and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently under pressure
- Experience with a variety of IT systems, including an P2P system such as Oracle
- Time‑management, attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Previous NHS experience is desirable
- Experience in data reporting and use of Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to manage a varied workload
- Cheerful personality with enthusiasm to put the customer first
- Willingness to embrace new ways of working
- Valuing contribution to the organisation and actively seeking improvement
