Role SummaryThe Site Manager is responsible for the entire scope of construction site activities on a given project site, acting under the direction and on behalf of the project director. Within a given project, they define the site works strategy, lead the site teams, and manage the execution of the project scope of works. They ensure that Safety, Quality, Costs and Schedule comply with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulation.
On large & complex sites a site manager can be mobilised to look after individual major packages. Reports to the GSI Construction Manager and participates in the function’s objective definitions and their follow‑up.
- Support the timely definition and issuance of sub‑contracts with EHS, Quality, Planning, Contract Management & Sourcing input.
- Act as the main point of contact for operational aspects of all sites sub‑contracts.
- In a partner / consortium, act as the main point of contact for all construction related topics.
- Ensure integration of customer EHS requirements in project‑specific EHS procedure with EHS department support.
- Plan the C&C activities within the overall project schedule, implement the construction management system on each site to deliver the project on time.
- Manage the risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning activities.
- Participate actively in the Behavioral Safety Programs.
- Prepare staffing plans, mobilise site teams & follow up actuals vs. plan.
- Set goals and objectives for the supervisors mobilised on the site.
- Liaise with the design office for timely issuance of data required for preparation & execution.
- Initiate implementation of CMS (Completion Management System) & define TOPs with the Commissioning Team.
- Support project leadership during important meetings with the customer.
- An appropriate qualification in Civil / Electrical Engineering, degree level with 5‑10 years of work experience.
- Health & safety experience, training and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature; GWO certification an added advantage.
- Background in HV electrical works and commissioning.
- Great interpersonal skills & ability to lead working teams in difficult situations.
- Previous experience as a Site Manager on large HV Substation Projects. Construction experience in the UK would be an advantage but is not essential.

- Building services & auxiliaries
- HV & MV equipment
- Control & Protection system
