We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the Planned Repairs & Maintenance division. This is a commercially focused position responsible for maximising profitability, managing valuations and subcontractor accounts, and ensuring robust financial control across multiple contracts.
Working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in delivering commercial success while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and monitor all commercial activities across assigned contracts.
- Ensure project profit targets are achieved through effective cost and margin management.
- Prepare, review, and submit Applications for Payment.
- Review and amend Schedule of Rates (SOR) data where required.
- Assess void specifications and ensure correct SOR code application.
- Finalise completed works to enable prompt invoicing.
- Approve contrat charges and cost transfers.
- Monitor material expenditure and plant hire costs.
- Negotiate and secure best value from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and agree subcontractor variations, ensuring client approvals are in place where required.
- Ensure all chargeable works are identified and captured.
- Maximise utilisation of NHF Schedule of Rates codes.
- Prepare and submit loss and expense claims where applicable.
- Conduct post-project commercial reviews and lessons learned exercises.
- Produce accurate cost-to-complete reports and value forecasts.
- Review contract documentation and identify commercial risks and obligations.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.
- Submit quotations and estimates to clients as required.
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, maintenance, or property services
- Strong knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates
- Experience working with JCT, NEC, and NHF contract forms
- Understanding of Target Cost and Price Per Property contract models
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Excellent IT and reporting capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Social Housing sector experience
- Planned Maintenance, Decarbonisation or Responsive Repairs background
- Experience working for a Tier 1 Contractor or Property Services organisation
- Salary of £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
