Our client, a supportive mainstream secondary school in Oldbury, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Qualified English Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis through our education recruitment agency. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while covering a planned absence in a well-established English department.

The Role:

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential). The role offers the chance to join a collaborative department with clear schemes of work and strong leadership support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Teach English to KS3 and KS4 students

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum

* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

* Maintain high expectations and positive classroom behaviour

* Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

* Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting

* Strong classroom management and communication skills

* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
