About the Role
Are you an experienced Primary Teacher looking for a full‑time teaching role within a nurturing and faith‑led school community? Flourish Education is working in partnership with a welcoming one‑form entry Catholic Primary School in West Bromwich, which is seeking an experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team from February to cover a maternity leave.
This role comes with full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and attendance at staff meetings. The school seeks a confident and established teacher with previous KS2 experience, a strong understanding of SATs preparation, and the ability to deliver effective interventions to support pupil progress. As a one‑form entry school, this is a close‑knit and supportive environment where strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues are highly valued.
The successful teacher will be committed to upholding the school’s Catholic ethos and contributing positively to the wider community.
- Taking full responsibility for a Year 6 class, including planning, teaching, and marking.
- Delivering high‑quality lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Preparing pupils effectively for SATs through targeted teaching and interventions.
- Assessing, tracking, and monitoring pupil progress to inform planning and next steps.
- Planning and delivering small‑group and whole‑class interventions where required.
- Creating a calm, positive, and well‑managed classroom environment.
- Working collaboratively with senior leaders and support staff to raise attainment.
- Supporting and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
- Strong knowledge of SATs expectations, assessment, and data tracking.
- Experience planning and delivering effective interventions to support pupil progress.
- Confident classroom and behaviour‑management skills.
- The ability to work independently within a one‑form entry setting.
- A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school (practising Catholic not essential unless specified by the school).
- A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
- A minimum of two excellent references.
- A competitive salary of up to £223.62 per day, which equates to £43,605 based on working 5 days a week for the full school year (M1–M6 Paid to scale).

West Bromwich. Good transport links from Handsworth, Smethwick, Oldbury and the surrounding areas. For those travelling by car, on‑site parking is provided.
