Overview

We are growing our English department to provide more opportunity for reading development across the school. The successful candidate will join an established, cohesive team with strong links across the Mercian Academy Trust and excellent opportunities for development.

• Teach English across Key Stages 3–5.
• Benchmark learners against national criteria and use assessment data to monitor and intervene.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Contribute to curriculum design within English.
• Work as part of a team that ensures creative, innovative learning in every lesson.
• Act as a Form Tutor.

• Ambition to inspire all students and support their development in English.
• Resilience to adapt and support all students in achieving in English.
• Commitment to your own development and learning, with additional non-contact time specifically for personal development.
• Incredible subject knowledge.
• The ability to use assessment data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students.

• Additional non-contact time beyond 10% PPA to support your self-development.
