English Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools
Location: West Bromwich and surrounding areas
Pay Rate: £90 to £110 per day
Contract Type: Flexible, part time or full time

Role Overview
We are seeking confident and reliable English Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across the West Bromwich area. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong interest or background in English who enjoy working with young people and want a varied role in education without needing a formal teaching qualification.

You will supervise English lessons in the absence of the teacher, deliver pre set work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged and progressing with their tasks. No lesson planning is required - your focus will be on supervision, support and classroom leadership.

• Supervise English lessons using pre prepared materials

• Ensure students stay on task with reading, writing and language activities

• Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment

• Manage behaviour in line with school policies

• Support students in understanding and completing assigned work

• Work across different secondary schools as required

• Represent the organisation professionally at all times

• Experience working with young people such as youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring or school based roles

• Strong English skills and confidence supporting literacy based tasks

• Confidence managing groups of students

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexible and willing to travel to different school locations

• Reliable, punctual and adaptable

• GCSEs or equivalent required with English qualification at GCSE level or above strongly preferred

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

• Right to work in the UK
