Ready to be the reliable 1:1 support for a pupil with autism and ADHD? Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant Immediate start until July 2026 £ 85 - £101 per day 'Good' secondary school, West Bromwich 1:1 support for a student with autism and ADHD

The Role:

You will provide consistent support across the school day so the student can access each lesson. Before class, you will check equipment, preview instructions and agree a simple goal for the period. In lessons, you will break tasks into clear steps, use visual prompts and now next cards, and model how to start written work. You will give quiet cues to sustain focus, plan short regulation breaks, and guide a calm return to learning.

You will help organise notes, record homework accurately and submit work on time. After lessons, you will log quick outcomes, flag triggers and positives, and share next steps with subject teachers and the SENCO so strategies remain aligned.

The Candidate & Requirements:

You stay calm, communicate clearly and build independence rather than doing the work for the pupil.
  • Degree, 2:2 or above in Psychology or a closely related field.
    • Clear written notes and confident spoken communication.
    • Enhanced DBS, held already or willingness to obtain.
    • Motivation to work in education with interest in autism, ADHD and regulation strategies.
    • Experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
