Grace Mary Primary School is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Governing Board as Co‑Opted Governors. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting our school community and ensuring every child achieves their full potential. As part of our governing body, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the school, helping us maintain a safe, nurturing, and high‑achieving learning environment.

The Role of a GovernorGovernors do not manage the day‑to‑day running of the school. Instead, they focus on:
- Setting the school’s vision and strategic direction
- Supporting and challenging the Headteacher and leadership team
- Monitoring pupil achievement and school performance
- Ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing are a priority
- Overseeing the efficient use of the school’s budget
We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds. You do not need prior experience as training will be provided. We are particularly interested in people who:
- Have a passion for improving children’s education
- Can think strategically and work as part of a team
- Are able to offer skills or experience in areas such as education, finance, HR, safeguarding, health, or community engagement
- Are committed to equality, inclusion, and safeguarding
- Time Commitment Approximately 6 meetings per year (usually evenings) Occasional visits to the school
