About Ministry of Women and Child Development
The Ministry of Women and Child Development, a branch of the Government of India, is an apex body for formulation and administration of the rules and regulations and laws relating to women and child development in India.
About the InternshipMinistry of Woman and Child Development (MWCD) is inviting applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers enrolled in or associated with any university, academic, or non‑academic institution under the Internship Programmes of the Ministry. Candidates willing to undertake pilot projects or micro‑studies focusing on the ongoing activities of the Ministry may apply through the Ministry’s portal. The internship provides qualitative exposure to the Ministry’s mandate and offers specific programmes and policy analysis for the target group to become proactive in raising issues of women and children on various platforms in the future.
Eligibility- Applications are invited from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from non‑Tier I cities and rural parts of India.
- Aspiring candidates must be enrolled in or associated with any university, academic, or non‑academic institution.
- Candidates aged 21‑40 years may apply.
Selected interns will receive a lump‑sum stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month.
Reimbursement of travel costs (by deluxe/AC bus or 3‑tier AC train) will cover the journey for joining the programme and return at its end. Willing interns may be provided with hostel accommodation on a sharing basis during their programme in Delhi.
Duration and BatchesThe internship programme is offered in four distinct terms throughout the financial year—May‑June, August‑September, November‑December, and February‑March—each lasting two months.

The applications can be submitted two months prior to the start of the internship, between the 1st and 10th of the month (e.g., 1st‑10th March for the May‑June term, 1st‑10th June for the August‑September term, etc.).
Application ProcedureProspective interns must submit their applications online via the Internship Programme portal. A selected candidate will not be eligible to apply for any subsequent term.
