NITI Aayog Overview

As the Government of India's premier policy advisory body, NITI Aayog functions as the central institution for accelerating economic growth and strengthening cooperative federalism. The organization operates under the leadership of the Prime Minister as its Chairperson, with the current team comprising Vice Chairperson Suman Bery and Ex-Officio Members including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Narendra Singh Tomar.

Internship Program Details

The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme invites applications from undergraduate/postgraduate students and research scholars affiliated with accredited educational institutions both in India and internationally. Selected participants will collaborate directly with various specialized divisions within NITI Aayog through an online application process.

Program Objectives

  • Provide selected candidates with hands‑on experience across different NITI Aayog departments

  • Facilitate meaningful engagement between young scholars and policy making processes

  • Offer practical understanding of government operations and developmental challenges

  • Enable contributions to policy development through research, analytical reports, and policy recommendations

    • Program Specifications

    • Format: On‑site engagement

    • Location: NITI Aayog headquarters, New Delhi

    • Duration: Minimum 6 weeks, maximum 6 months

    • Final date to receive applications: June 10, 2025

    Eligibility Requirements

    The program welcomes applications from currently enrolled students meeting the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate Applicants:

    • Completion of second year/fourth semester examinations

    • Minimum 85% aggregate in Class 12 examinations

  • Graduate/Postgraduate Applicants:

    • Completion of first year/second semester of postgraduate studies

    • Minimum 70% aggregate in undergraduate studies

    • PhD candidates/research scholars may also apply

  • Recent Graduates:

    • Candidates awaiting admission to advanced programs may apply

    • Must maintain 70% cumulative score in all completed semesters

    • Applications must be submitted within six months of final examination results

    • Application Process

    Prospective candidates must complete the online registration form available on the official portal.

    Certification Requirements

    Participants must complete the minimum duration to receive program certification.
