Are you an experienced Primary Teacher looking for a full‑time teaching role within a supportive and welcoming school environment?

A friendly and inclusive Primary School in West Bromwich is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a long‑term basis.

This full‑time position will begin in September and continue until February half‑term initially, with the potential for the role to be extended.

This is a full class teacher role with full planning responsibilities. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers who can demonstrate successful long‑term teaching experience. Experience supporting pupils with SEND and familiarity with the Little Wandle phonics would be highly advantageous.

As a Year 2 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to promote a productive learning atmosphere
  • Assessing pupils' progress and using assessment to inform future planning
  • Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff to meet the needs of all learners
  • Supporting pupils with SEND through inclusive teaching strategies and appropriate adaptations
  • Delivering high‑quality phonics sessions using the Little Wandle programme where required
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, achievement, and presentation
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
To be successful in this Year 2 Teacher role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Knowledge or experience of the Little Wandle Phonics programme
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND or a strong understanding of inclusive classroom practice
  • Good classroom management skills and a proactive approach
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and committed attitude to teaching
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils' learning and development
  • This role would suit an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with proven successful long‑term teaching experience.
Working as a Year 2 Teacher in this role, you will receive:
  • Competitive Salary – from £130 – £160 per day, based on working 5 days a week and on previous experience

This Year 2 Teacher role is based in West Bromwich and is easily accessible from Oldbury, Wednesbury, Smethwick, Tipton, Great Barr, Handsworth, and surrounding areas.
