Do you have a passion for supporting KS2 pupils and helping children overcome barriers to learning, including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Full-time, Monday to Friday
The Role As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, delivering targeted interventions, covering classes where required and working closely with teachers to ensure pupils make excellent progress. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities Deliver targeted small group and one-to-one interventions across KS2. Support pupils with SEMH needs using positive behaviour management and tailored support strategies. Deliver Maths and English interventions to raise attainment. Provide whole-class cover during teacher absence when required. Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. The School is Looking For An experienced HLTA or highly experienced Teaching Assistant with primary school experience. Strong experience supporting pupils across Key Stage
2. Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs. Confidence delivering interventions and leading whole-class learning when required. Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills. HLTA status or equivalent experience is desirable.
