Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Hlta)
Location: Oldbury

Balfor Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Oldbury on a fulltime basis from September.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a real difference in the classroom.

The Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
  • Work with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
  • Deliver high-quality learning while promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider school team to support students’ academic, social and emotional development.
Requirements
  • Must hold a recognised HLTA qualification/status.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ UK experience working as a HLTA within a school setting is essential.
  • Experience working with students with ASC and/or PMLD is highly desirable.
  • Confident delivering lessons independently and supporting learning across KS3–KS5.
  • DBS registered onto the update service.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
