We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sandwell, seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their committed team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with secondary-aged pupils who require additional support to re-engage with education.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils.
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, helping to improve engagement, confidence and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to support student progress.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have previous experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
  • Have proven experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ideally within a PRU, alternative provision or specialist setting.
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Be resilient, adaptable and committed to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Be available to work full-time.
