DescriptionWe are excited to be recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer in Business to join our thriving Business Department at Central Saint Michael's Sixth Form on a part time, permanent basis working 31.5 hours per week. Reporting to the Head of Section, this role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting learners to achieve and progress.
You will deliver engaging and inspirational learning across Business programmes, act as a course tutor, and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and the overall learner experience.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in Business, in line with awarding body requirements
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments to support effective learning
- Act as a course tutor, supporting learners to achieve targets through progress tracking, reviews and pastoral support
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records in line with college requirements
- Contribute to curriculum development, planning and quality assurance activities
- Work collaboratively within course teams to ensure high standards of course delivery
- Engage with external partners, employers and agencies where appropriate to support learner needs
- Relevant subject specialism in Business (e.g. degree in a related subject)
- Teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or Level 5 teaching qualification) or willingness to work towards
- Experience of teaching Business or related subjects at Level 3 (A Level and/or BTEC)
- Ability to inspire, motivate and engage learners using diverse teaching methods
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).

- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
