DT Technician - Part-time

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN (Product Design)

20 hours per week (4 hours per day), term time plus one week (39 weeks per year)

This position would suit an existing DT or similar school‑based technician, or someone with a comparable role in a different sector. The post exists to provide a comprehensive technical service to teaching staff in the department and to assist when needed in practical lessons. The latter includes facilitating safe practical sessions in a workshop environment, overseeing the use of machinery and tools, and helping teachers and students with the general aim of improving the learning experience.

The post holder will have a role in respect of general health & safety in the department, maintenance of equipment, stock control and ordering. Good organisation and communication skills are essential.
