Alternatively, you may be looking for a part-time role working with young people where you can put your Maths degree to good use.
This opportunity is based within a secondary school in Smethwick
, where you will support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school has a diverse pupil community, and the role would suit a graduate who is confident building positive relationships with young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Maths Graduate who can make mathematical concepts accessible and engaging. The role could involve supporting pupils individually or in small groups, delivering Maths interventions, helping with GCSE revision or providing additional support to pupils who need help with particular areas of the Maths curriculum.
With part-time, flexible and longer-term opportunities available, this role is ideal for graduates who want to gain experience within education while maintaining flexibility around their other commitments.
The role will involve:- Providing one-to-one Maths support
- Working with small groups of pupils
- Delivering targeted Maths interventions
- Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
- Supporting GCSE Maths revision and booster sessions
- Helping pupils prepare for GCSE examinations
- Supporting pupils with areas such as algebra, geometry, number and statistics
- Helping pupils develop confidence and engagement in Maths
- Supporting pupils who have gaps in their mathematical knowledge
- Making complex mathematical concepts accessible to pupils
- Building positive relationships with pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Working alongside Maths teachers and wider school staff
- Providing whole-class cover where required
- Maths degree or closely related subject from a UK university
- Strong understanding of the UK secondary Maths curriculum
- Good knowledge of KS3 and KS4 Maths and GCSE content
- Strong Maths subject knowledge
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in an accessible way
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young people
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils from diverse backgrounds
- Patient, positive and enthusiastic approach
- Professional and reliable approach
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Interest in education or teaching is desirable
- £92.59 to £105 day rate
, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £20,475 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year - Full time, flexible and part-time opportunities available
