Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher looking for a part-time role? A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wednesbury is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher to join their team from October. This part-time job share position will be working Monday to Wednesday and will run until July 2027, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking for a consistent part-time teaching role.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the Year 5 class on their working days, including planning, teaching, marking and assessment. The class benefits from the support of two Teaching Assistants, one of whom provides dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ASD. The school is open to ECTs and is looking for a confident, enthusiastic teacher who can build positive relationships and deliver engaging lessons.
a Year 5 Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking full responsibility for the teaching and learning of a Year 5 class on Monday to Wednesday.
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Marking work, assessing pupil progress, and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with the job-share teacher to ensure consistency across the week.
- Working closely with the two Teaching Assistants to support pupils effectively.
- Liaising with the Teaching Assistant providing 1:1 support for a child with ASD.
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Attending relevant staff meetings, parents' evenings, and other school commitments where required.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT working towards completion of your induction.
- Previous experience teaching in Key Stage 2 is desirable.
- A good understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum and Year 5 expectations.
- Experience or understanding of planning, marking, assessment, and tracking pupil progress.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Confidence working alongside Teaching Assistants and supporting pupils with SEN.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
- A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
- A minimum of two excellent references.
- Competitive Salary – £33,930- £46,800per annum (pro rata, based on previous experience).

This Year 5 Class Teacher position is based in Wednesbury, and is easily commutable from surrounding areas including West Bromwich, Bilston, Wolverhampton and Oldbury.
