English Teacher

West Midlands/ temporary / £180 - 215 per day

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH provision based in Oldbury, which provides a nurturing environment focused on reducing challenging behaviour and promoting positive life choices. This short-stay provision supports students at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education, adopting a therapeutic approach to help young people develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The provision is looking to appoint an experienced English Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful English Teacher will deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 2 / KS2, Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, demonstrating strong behaviour management skills, adaptability and an understanding of the needs of young people with SEMH and challenging behaviours.

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience teaching English across KS2, KS3 and/or KS4
• Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• An understanding of therapeutic approaches and strategies to support students at risk of exclusion
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a passion for supporting young people
