  • Take ownership of the project KPIs (QCD, risks, client engagement) and ensure project engineering delivery meets expectations.

GE's HVDC business is expanding rapidly to meet global demand for decarbonized energy systems. This growth brings exciting challenges; scaling our teams, deepening our expertise, and elevating our project execution capabilities.

As our UK PEM Team Leader, you will play a critical role in this transformation, helping us build a high-performing, customer-focused project engineering delivery organization.

  • Lead and develop the UK PEM team: coach and support PEMs to grow their project leadership, technical understanding, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure project objectives are met: oversee project engineering performance (QCD, risks, KPIs) across its HVDC projects portfolio, ensuring consistency, application of GE processes and high standards.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders: develop and foster collaboration between PEM organization, technical functions, and all teams involved in project delivery.
  • Support project reviews and escalations: act as primary escalation point for engineering topics in project reviews. Ensure that critical issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Participate in strategic planning: collaborate with Engineering Directors and Head of Functions to improve project governance, processes, and capabilities.
  • Utilises knowledge of a technical discipline, technical experience and analytical thinking to execute policy strategy.
  • Serves as the technical leader to develop a scope of work and provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, and Engineering sub-contractors.

  • Strong experience in complex EPC projects and leading engineering disciplines, with significant experience of people leadership.
  • Passionate about developing teams and people, with an ability to drive large-scale, high-impact initiatives. Focus on developing technical, project management and leadership competence with comprehensive training and development plans.

  • Proactive approach to Health & Safety, including conducting Risk Assessments where necessary.
