CAD / CAM Designer
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a skilled and versatile CAD/CAM Designer to join our well-established client based in Oldbury/Dudley. This a key, hands on role offering variety, responsibility, and involvement across the full project lifecycle - from initial concept through to final manufacture.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, problem solving and working closely with both design and production teams to deliver bespoke, high quality components.
Location: Oldbury/Dudley
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Monday to Friday working hours

As a CAD / CAM Designer, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
CAD design and production of detailed technical drawings
3D modelling using Solid Works
CNC programming using Alpha
CAM, including 3D machining strategiesProviding technical support to the sales team, including costings and lead times
Supporting CNC setup, quality checks, and continuous process improvement
Working closely with machine operators and production teams on the factory floor
Problem-solving, value engineering, and improving manufacturing efficiency
Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure designs are practical and production-ready
To be successful as a CAD / CAM Designer, you will need:
Proven experience in CAD design and CNC programming
Strong Solid Works 3D modelling skills
Experience using Alpha
CAM (or similar CAM software)Good understanding of CNC machining processes
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with 3D machining strategies
Background in a bespoke or low-volume manufacturing environment
Previous involvement in process improvement or value engineering
Ongoing training and support will be provided to ensure continued development within the role.
