Maintenance Engineer
Smethwick
£42,000 - £45,000 DOE
Double Days Shifts, 37.5 hour working week, rotating shifts of 6am – 2pm to 2pm – 10pm.
We are looking for a Mech bias maintenance engineer to join our team of 6 engineers at our growing site in Smethwick. We have an established customer base, exporting goods all around the world. This is a really good opportunity to join a growing business with brilliant stability.
Our site has continually expanded year after year, and we have now incorporated another factory into our industry. With a turnover of £80 million last year, we are looking for another maintenance engineer to help support our growth.
The work done will be 80/20 mech based, if you have some electrical knowledge. i.e. isolate safely, change a sensor and have some formal of electrical qualifcaiton that would be great, but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities as a mechanical maintenance engineer:
Maintenance of equipment throughout the manufacturing site, with the ability
required to fault find, diagnose, and rectify problems.
Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks
Installation of machinery and services.
Involvement in continuous improvement projects.
Entry of completed task details onto PC based maintenance system.
Day to day you’ll be repairing and maintaining hydraulics/pneumatics systems, presses, rolling mills, guillotines and CNC machines.
Experience Required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:
- Minimum of 3 years industrial experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer.
- would look at an engineer with no qualifications if you demonstrate proven experience - ideally be level 2/3
- Good understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics systems, gearboxes, pulleys, straps, belts, chains etc
