A Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng MIStructE / MICE) Experienced in leading technical delivery on complex building structures projects Confident in designing with steel, concrete, timber, and masonry to Eurocodes Passionate about mentoring engineers and developing high-performing teams Experienced in a multidisciplinary design environment Your Responsibilities As our Building Structures Technical Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in:
Leading fee proposals, resource planning, and project delivery Managing and mentoring engineers and technicians within a regional team Acting as the technical lead on complex building structures projects Conducting site inspections and identifying structural issues Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, models, and reports Coordinating structural design with multidisciplinary teams Setting and delivering structural design strategies aligned with sustainability targets Leading design input at project meetings with clients and stakeholders Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act What We’re Looking For This role is perfect for you if you:
Are a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IStructE or ICE, holding a relevant Civil/Structural Engineering degree Have extensive experience designing large, multi-storey structures using steel and reinforced concrete Possess strong knowledge of UK regulations, including CDM, Building Safety Act, and Party Wall Act Have proven experience designing across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry to European Standards Are experienced in site inspections and identifying structural defects Are proficient in TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Master series, and Revit, working to ISO
19650 BIM standards Have a strong track record in checking/design review, technical reporting, and delivering projects on budget and on time At Kier, we believe in finding potential.
