Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists

Responsibilities

• To provide assessments and intervention for children and young people with a physical disability or motor coordination problem that is affecting participation in self care, school work or leisure activities.
• To work with parents and carers to ensure they are confident and competent to implement therapy recommendations into the child's daily routine.
• Assess for / recommend equipment to support access to the curriculum in school and ensure that children, young people and those supporting them know how to use it.
• To contribute to Education Health and Care assessments and provide written reports outlining abilities needs and required support.
• To have a focus on quality improvement initiatives for the team, in collaboration with a Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy colleague in the same role. This includes planning our monthly Quality Improvement Half Days and supporting task and finish groups in line with our team PDR.
• To provide leadership, supervision and support for Junior Occupational Therapy staff and colleagues within the wider team.
