We're currently recruiting for an experienced 'Buyer' to join an established manufacturing business based in the Oldbury area.

This is a fantastic temporary to permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, building strong supplier relationships and taking ownership of the purchasing process.

The business operates within UK manufacturing, producing specialist products and solutions for commercial interiors, so you'll be joining an environment where quality, service and getting materials where they need to be on time are incredibly important.

If you're commercially minded, organised and enjoy working collaboratively across different departments, this could be a brilliant next step.

The role

As Buyer, you'll take responsibility for supporting the purchasing requirements of the business, ensuring the right products and materials are available at the right time and at the right price.

Working within a smaller team means this is very much a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building strong supplier relationships and getting stuck in where needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day purchasing of products and materials
Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently
Liaising with existing suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
Sourcing products and obtaining competitive quotations where required
Negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best possible price, quality and service
Monitoring outstanding purchase orders and proactively chasing deliveries
Managing stock requirements and helping to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained
Working closely with the sales and warehouse teams to understand purchasing requirements and priorities
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
Resolving any supplier, delivery or stock discrepancies efficiently
Maintaining accurate purchasing records and updating internal systems
Identifying potential opportunities for cost savings and improvements
Supporting the wider team with additional duties during busy periods

We're looking for someone who is:

Experienced within buying, purchasing or procurement
Commercially minded and confident when dealing with suppliers
Comfortable negotiating on pricing, lead times and supply
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident managing multiple orders and priorities at once
Proactive and able to identify potential issues before they become a problem
A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams
Comfortable working within a small, close-knit team
Flexible, hands-on and willing to support colleagues when needed
Looking for a role where they can potentially build a longer-term career and grow alongside the business

We're particularly keen to speak with someone who has the right attitude and team mentality, and who will enjoy becoming a key part of a growing business.

If you're an experienced Buyer or Purchasing professional looking for a role where you can take ownership, build strong supplier relationships and become a valued member of a close-knit team, we'd love to hear from you.
