Crosshead Extrusion Setter – West Bromwich
Hours:
48 per week |
Shift: Monday–Thursday 6am–6pm | Pay: £14/hr
Who We Are
Workforce Manufacturing are looking for an experienced Crosshead Extrusion Setter to join our West Bromwich team. We specialise in producing high-quality coated wires, hoses, and pipes. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with hands-on co-extrusion experience and knowledge of materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.
The Role
As a Crosshead Extrusion Setter, you will:
Set up and operate extrusion machines safely and efficiently.
Maintain and check tools and equipment regularly.
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials to ensure quality standards are met.
Keep accurate production and quality records.
Maintain a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
Pack and prepare production outputs as required.
Support your team with any other duties assigned by your Team Leader.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Setter/Operator in extrusion manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with co-extrusion, coating wires, or producing hoses/pipes.
Skilled with materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Motivation to achieve production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Commitment to continuous improvement and company values.
Note:
Blown film extrusion experience is not suitable for this role.
Role Objectives
S – Achieve zero harm to yourself and colleagues.
Q – Ensure zero defective raw materials are accepted.
D – Maintain timely offloading of all raw materials.
C – Prevent downtime for machines due to material availability issues.
