About the Role

Pertemps West Bromwich are recruiting on behalf of our valued client for a Workshop/Inspection Engineer to join their specialist lifting equipment team based in Tipton.

This is a hands-on, technical role where you’ll be inspecting, maintaining and repairing a wide range of lifting gear - including hoists, chain blocks and bespoke lifting equipment used across multiple industries.

You’ll be responsible for:

Inspecting & testing lifting gear in line with LOLER regulations

Identifying and recording equipment damage and completing service reports

Working to high safety and housekeeping standards

Supporting colleagues in the workshop and occasionally assisting with driving/deliveries

Communicating clearly with your Line Manager and customers when needed

Repairing, servicing and maintaining lifting equipment

This role suits someone mechanically minded, ambitious and eager to develop within a highly specialist industry.

What We’re Looking For

Our client is ideally seeking someone with:

✔ Experience maintaining or inspecting lifting equipment

✔ Knowledge of LOLER (or willingness to train towards LOLER Inspector level)

✔ Strong mechanical or engineering skills

✔ A full UK driving licence

✔ Good communication, organisation and attention to detail

✔ A positive, ambitious mindset and willingness to learn

✔ Ability to work well within a supportive workshop team
