Take ownership of a high-precision laser manufacturing process within a quality-focused environment. Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter-Operator to program, set, operate, and optimise Trumpf Tru Laser Cell 8030 5-axis laser machines, producing automotive-grade components. This is a hands-on role with involvement from CAD through to QA, including jig/fixture design and in-process quality checks. Operating across the automotive, architectural, construction, steel, acoustic, and audio sectors, the business supplies the UK market and exports globally, offering a stable role with technical variety and responsibility.
What we need from you:
Solid experience with 5-axis laser cutting ideally Trumpf Tru Laser Cell 8030 Confident programming in Tru Tops Cell (SW48) and reading complex CAD/drawings
Experience with jig/fixture design and ideally some hands-on build capability Track record in working to automotive-grade quality standards Comfortable owning a job from start to finish, with problem-solving skills and attention to detail Desirable:
Experience with Solid Works, offline simulation or CAM This role will involve you reporting to the CNC Machine Manager. Duties to include:
Program 5-axis cutting operations using Trumpf Tru Tops Cell (SW48) Set and operate the Tru Laser Cell 8030 machines (x2) Manufacture and modify fixtures/jigs , supporting repeatability and part accuracy Lead the full process : feasibility review ? programming ? cutting ? QA checks Inspect parts using checking fixtures to automotive standards Carry out basic maintenance : nozzle/lens care, beam alignment, general upkeep Work closely with our Toolroom, Engineering and QA teams to deliver high-quality, right-first-time results Salary: £22.20 per hour.
Overtime is also available.
Hours:
Working 39 hours per week on days, Monday to Thursday 7.30am 4pm and Friday 7.30am 3pm. Benefits:
