Die Cast Machine Setter/Operator
£15.00 - £18.00 per hour - depending on experience - weekly pay
Immediate - ongoing work
Hours of Work: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Monday to Friday
Based in Wednesbury
Job Purpose
To set, operate, and monitor 20 to 120 tonne FRECH pressure die cast machines to produce high-quality cast components in line with production schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities of a Die Cast Machine Setter/Operator
Machine Operation
Operate 20 to 120 tonne FRECH pressure die casting machines safely and efficiently.
Start up and shut down machines in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required.
Load raw materials and remove finished castings.
Ensure correct tooling is fitted and functioning properly.
Quality Control
Inspect components to ensure they meet specification and quality standards.
Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or machine issues immediately.
Complete quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Production & Efficiency
Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
Minimise scrap and downtime.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
Skills & Experience Required for a Die Cast Machine Setter/Operator
Essential
Previous experience operating FRECH pressure die casting machines preferred.
Understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
Ability to read and follow work instructions.
Basic quality inspection skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good timekeeping and reliability.
Desirable
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing and production environment.
Knowledge of zinc die casting processes.
Basic mechanical aptitude. Detail of a Die Cast Machine Setter/Operator
£15.00 to £18.00 per hour depending on experience - weekly pay
Hours of work are 2pm to 10m Monday to Friday
