Competitive Heidelberg Materials is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious
** Asphalt Plant Operative
** to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining our asphalt plant to ensure the production of high-quality materials that meet customer and company standards.###
** Your Responsibilities
*** Operate static and mobile plant machinery safely and efficiently.
* Plan daily production based on customer requirements and plant capabilities.
* Carry out start-up and shut-down procedures, optimizing throughput.
* Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance of plant equipment.
* Operate Front-End Loaders (FELs) and dumpers for material movement and plant feed.
* Refuel and maintain both static and mobile machinery.
* Maintain accurate records and report defects or near misses.
* Support operations at other local sites when required (travel allowance provided if applicable).###
** Key Accountabilities
*** Safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment.
* Completion of daily inspection sheets and maintenance logs.
* Timely reporting of faults and issues to site management.
* Energy-efficient operation of machinery.
* Adherence to Heidelberg Materials’ safety and operational standards.
* Good timekeeping and reliability.###
** What We’re Looking For
*** Experience in operating plant machinery (FELs, dumpers, etc.).
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel to nearby sites when needed.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.###
