Person Specification
* Experienced in all aspects of press and shear tool manufacture, maintenance and fault-finding.
* Experience working with CNC and manual machinery, including surface grinding, milling, turning, fixturing and wire EDM.
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to specified tolerances.
* Well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional.
* Good timekeeping and attendance.
* Able to take responsibility for achieving individual objectives as well as contributing to team objectives.
* Able to prioritise workload and work effectively to tight deadlines and under pressure.
* Computer literate, with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate records.
* Excellent attention to detail, with accuracy and quality being paramount.
* Able to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate a positive “can-do” attitude.
* Willing to develop existing skills and learn new equipment and machining methods.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to provide evidence of the right to work. The Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate Toolroom equipment and machinery to a high standard and in accordance with Company procedures.
* Operate a Forklift Truck and Overhead Crane to support daily duties and ensure tooling is safely delivered to production. Training will be provided.
* Work as part of the team to ensure manufacturing requirements are completed within agreed timescales and production try-out dates are met.
* Support the team in responding to tooling breakdowns and carrying out repairs promptly to minimise production downtime.
* Adopt a “Right First Time” approach to all work carried out, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers when additional support is required, including agreeing timescales and costs.
* Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, housekeeping standards, Company rules and procedures.
* Follow verbal and written instructions and work in accordance with established procedures and safe working practices.
* Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in line with business KPIs.
* Work collaboratively as part of the team to improve performance, efficiency and the overall success of the business.
