Guillotine Operator / Overhead Crane Operator
Location:
Dudley
Salary: £13 - £14 per hour
Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Guillotine Operator / Guillotine Machine Operator with a valid Overhead Crane Licence to join a busy manufacturing and engineering environment.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
The Role
As a Guillotine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate cutting of sheet metal and other materials, alongside the use of overhead lifting equipment.
Duties will include:
Operating and setting guillotine machinery
Cutting sheet metal, steel and other materials to required sizes
Reading measurements, drawings and job specifications
Setting machinery and checking dimensions
Operating an overhead crane to lift, move and position materials
Loading and unloading materials safely
Moving raw materials and finished products around the factory
Carrying out quality checks and ensuring accurate production
Following production schedules and manufacturing instructions
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Complying with Health & Safety procedures and company policies
Working as part of a busy production, manufacturing and engineering team
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Guillotine Operator, Guillotine Machine Operator, Sheet Metal Worker or Production Operative
Experience operating industrial guillotines within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or sheet metal environment
A valid Overhead Crane Licence / Overhead Crane Certificate
Experience using lifting equipment to safely move heavy materials
Ability to work from measurements, specifications and engineering drawings
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
Good awareness of workplace Health & Safety
Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
What We Offer
£13 - £14 per hour
