Fabricator, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £31,200 - £36,400 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime available

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of bespoke heavy engineering projects, producing high-quality fabricated components and structures within a busy workshop environment.

• Read and interpret detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
• Fabricate components using mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
• Carry out cutting, forming, assembly and tack welding duties
• Perform MIG welding to a high standard
• Operate workshop machinery including guillotines, press brakes and overhead cranes
• Inspect completed work and identify any non-conforming materials or components
• Complete fabrication work accurately and within agreed timescales
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with all health and safety procedures
• Complete relevant documentation and assist with additional workshop tasks when required

• Previous experience as a Metal Fabricator within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
• MIG welding experience
• Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable carrying out physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending and manual handling

• Competitive pay of up to £17.50 per hour
