Paint Sprayer

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Oldbury area.

• Prepare automotive components for painting, including cleaning, degreasing, sanding and masking.
• Mix and prepare paints, primers and coatings to the required specifications.
• Operate spray guns and other painting equipment to apply primer, basecoat and topcoat.
• Spray components evenly to achieve the required finish, coverage and thickness.
• Carry out colour matching and make adjustments where required.
• Inspect painted components for defects, runs, imperfections and coverage.
• Carry out finishing, polishing and rectification work where necessary.
• Follow paint specifications, job sheets and production requirements.
• Maintain spray guns, equipment and the paint-spraying area.
• Work safely with paints, solvents and other chemicals, following COSHH and PPE requirements.
• Work to production deadlines while maintaining a consistent standard of finish.

• Previous experience as an Automotive Paint Sprayer or Paint Sprayer within a manufacturing/bodyshop environment.
• Experience using spray guns to apply primers, paints and protective coatings.
• Good knowledge of paint preparation, mixing and application techniques.
• Able to prepare surfaces correctly before painting.
• Experience working with metal/automotive components would be advantageous.
• Good eye for detail and ability to identify paint defects.
• Able to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.
• Comfortable working in a production environment and meeting deadlines.
• Good understanding of PPE, COSHH and safe handling of paints and solvents.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
