Young Women's Empowerment Advocate
Location: Sandwell
Salary: £26,278.98 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:00pm)
Contract: Full Time
Red Snapper Recruitment is recruiting for a Young Women's Empowerment Advocate to support girls and young women aged 11-19 who may be experiencing vulnerability, trauma, exploitation, emotional wellbeing challenges or involvement with the criminal justice system. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference by helping young women build confidence, resilience and positive futures through trauma-informed, strengths-based support.
The RoleYou will work directly with young women in schools, community settings and other appropriate locations, delivering one-to-one support and group programmes that empower them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored one-to-one interventions and group sessions.
- Supporting young women to improve confidence, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.
- Helping young people recognise and reduce risks linked to exploitation, harmful relationships and other safeguarding concerns.
- Developing personalised support plans, completing risk assessments and maintaining accurate case records.
- Working closely with schools, Children's Services, Youth Justice, Police and other partner agencies to provide coordinated support.
- Promoting the voice of young women and ensuring they are at the centre of all interventions.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Experience supporting children and young people.
- Experience managing a caseload.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments and support planning.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively with partner agencies.
- Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to travel across the local area.
