Transport Coordinator

Location: Oldbury

Transport Coordinator - Permanent position Working Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm paying 30K a year- offering further career progression and development.

Job Description for the Transport Coordinator role:
· Planning delivery routes and coordinating the transportation of goods.
· Booking deliveries with customers and coordinating suitable delivery times.
· Ensuring shipments are arranged in the most cost-effective and efficient way.
· Communicating delivery schedules and updates to customers.
· Managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Preparing delivery notes and relevant documentation for drivers.
· Liaising closely with Production and Customer Service teams to ensure targets are achieved.
· Obtaining quotes for overseas deliveries and coordinating shipments once goods are manufactured.
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date delivery logs and ensuring all data is recorded correctly.
· Monitoring KPIs and supporting despatch analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Candidate Requirements for the Transport Coordinator role:
· Previous coordination experience is essential; transport experience is desirable but not essential.
· Good geographical knowledge would be beneficial.
· Confident using IT systems, with good working knowledge of Excel.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
· Strong administrative and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
· Adaptable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
· Motivated, proactive and confident using own initiative.
· Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a small team.
